FAQ
Have Questions?
We have answers. Exploring whether solar is right for you? Needing assistance with an existing system?
If you own your home, have a rooftop that is sunny for most of the day, and you pay over $75 per month for electricity, you will most likely benefit from having a solar electric system. While individual circumstances may vary, we have options to fit most of them.
The short answer is No. A grid-interactive solar energy system, which is what most people have, is reliant of sensing an active electrical utility grid in order to produce power. This is a safely feature so that your solar energy system does not back-feed and energize a grid under maintenance and inadvertently injure an electrical worker. The addition of battery storage and related hardware can provide for that resiliency, whether partially or fully, in the event of a grid outage.
Generally, No. The infrequent rain that we receive in Southern Arizona washes away dust and debris. It can whittle away at your value proposition if you pay a ‘Panel Cleaning Service’ to clean your panels, even though it might slightly help with output. However, there are circumstances where solar panels are subjected to more dust and debris such as horse property, ground mounts, or more rural areas with quite a bit of ATV activity. In these scenarios, a rinse every 6 months or so would improve solar panel output.
Yes, we can! While we do charge for our services, we’ll get you up and running so that you can benefit once again from the power output of your solar electric system. There are certain circumstances where we need special permission from a solar lease company or other third-party before we can help.
It depends on how much power you use. The design goal is to provide long-term savings and offset as much of your usage as possible. A larger system does cost more, but it also offsets more electricity historically provided by the utility company at significant cost.
We can help. One of the most prominent marketing claims is that ‘you’ve been chosen for a special program that is limited in your area, so you need to act fast!’ This is False. The solar industry, like many other industries, is fraught with deceptive marketing, misinformation, and false claims to get you to act fast. Solar installers are generally not affiliated with electric utilities or government entities, but we do help you to take advantage of the tax incentives and other programs available to you.
